Resumen

The production supervisor is responsible for helping the division achieve its goals by engaging employees, promoting a culture of safety, and optimizing the production process. The role provides direct supervision for hourly employees within his/her department.  This position will be working closely with the General Manager to meet goals for daily production, on-time delivery, compliance, and profitability.  Additionally, this role will partner with the Quality Manager and Chemistry team to ensure customer specifications are meet and delivered consistently.

 

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)/goals in collaboration with other internal departments. Promotes communication and teamwork with a focus on safety, quality, on time delivery, efficiency, and good housekeeping throughout the plant.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and potential solutions to close the gap. Engages team members in implementing process improvements.  Understands how to elevate large opportunities to key stakeholders within the organization. 
  • Plans labor requirements to match employee work hours with production needs. Adjusts as necessary to achieve response to customer needs while maintaining employee morale and budget adherence.
  • Provides support and motivates all shift personnel and assist the team in achieving the daily production schedule designed to meet our customer expectations.
  • Supervises, develops, and coaches team leads in all aspects of the job, including the proper techniques, work instructions, production methods, quality assurance, and plant operation.
  • Maintains strong relationships with employees including continuous communication and performance feedback to recognize contributions and address performance gaps.
  • Communicates daily goals to the team and reinforces positive results and removes barriers to goal achievement.
  • Understands the purpose and importance of the NADCAP and AS9100 documentation requirements. Ensure all team members follow required documentation procedures based on NADCAP and AS9100 requirements.
  • Works in conjunction with Human Resources on all personnel issues including performance management and necessary disciplinary coaching actions defined in the Pioneer Metal Finishing handbook.
  • Conducts annual and periodic performance reviews in alignment with company processes and timeframes. Includes recommending pay increases within company guidelines.
  • Develops job specific training content and supports on-the-job training programs and ensures compliance for training completion of required programs.
  • Ensures the workforce adheres to policies of the company handbook.
  • Ensures department team understands and delivers on Customer expectations including both internal and external customers. Represents the company professionally when interacting with customers and vendors at all times.

Education/Qualifications

  • 5 years of Strong Leadership experience in a labor-intensive production/manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations, or a related field preferred
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely, creative manner.
  • Must maintain a “Hands-on” style, willing and capable of taking a lead role in technical problem-solving efforts.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • ISO certification experience preferred. NADCAP or AS9100 a plus.
  • Strong presence and proven success motivating a workforce. 
  • Excellent teamwork and teambuilding skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees, vendors, and customers at all levels.
  • Previous experience creating a vision, setting goals, holding teams accountable and driving results.
  • High sense of urgency 
  • Previous success managing in a continuously changing environment.
